Michelle Thomas was named Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Vanderbilt Financial Group on January 1, 2024. She has been actively involved with VFG for the past three years and is well versed in all aspects of Compliance.
Michelle began working in the securities industry in 1991. She holds the 7, 14, 24, 66, 82TO, Life/Health/Disability Insurance, and Property-Casualty Insurance licenses and has completed the Certified Regulatory & Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation from the FINRA Institute at Wharton.
In addition to her roles within the firm, Michelle has also been very active within FINRA serving on the District Committee for five years, sitting on approximately 25 FINRA Enforcement Hearing Panels, and being elected as the Small Firm Representative on the FINRA National Adjudicatory Council for a four-year term.
Michelle grew up in Berlin, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Lakeside, California. Outside of work, Michelle is passionate about animals and has been actively involved as a foster for several non-profit cat rescues focused on rescuing cats from high-kill shelters in California. She has several cats deemed “unadoptable” due to health or personality issues.
